Mysterious Murders
Lo Juarez, Amber Brooks, Meredith Sabol
In this week’s project, we will be talking about mysterious murders in New Orleans. Built on sin, New Orleans has seen its fair share of murders and other heinous crimes. In the early days, most of these murders went unsolved, uninvestigated, and essentially ignored. There’s no telling how many bodies were hidden in the swamps and bayous surrounding the city or how many unreported murders were committed. There are, however, famous stories of murders in the Crescent City, which, to this day, have gone unsolved, including the famous Axeman of New Orleans, the Sultan’s Palace murders, and more recently, the murder-suicide of Addie Hall and Zachary Bowen.
This presentation ultimately seeks to teach a deeper understanding of the violence that occurred and still occurs in New Orleans. We seek to show the class that police investigations don’t always find the culprit, and when they do, it can be impossible to find any type of motive. Mysterious murders are the basis of many of the “hauntings” told of here, as well as the reputation New Orleans has for being a dangerous and violent place to live.
This was on of my favorite topics because it was very interesting to learn about famous crimes in New Orleans, I still can't believe that guy seasoned his girlfriend.
ReplyDeleteYour presentation was very captivating. It's so weird that the Terrible Axe Man would kill all those innocent people and never got caught.
